PeeWee AE White Winterhawks raise funds to help Ugandan boy
Submitted By Troy Underhill on Wednesday, November 7, 2018
The PeeWee AE White Winterhawks have partnered with One4Another, an Ontario charity, and their “18th Man” project. As part of this project, we have agreed to fundraise to pay for life-changing clubfoot surgery for a young boy in Uganda.

We are selling raffle tickets for three autographed Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys from Auston Matthews, Fredrik Andersen and Matt Martin. Tickets are $5 each or $10 for 3, and are available from any player on our team or those listed below. Our new “teammate” Brian is 13 years old.

In Uganda, the odds of mobility impairments such as a clubfoot among newborns are roughly the same as in Canada (about 1 in 1,000) but the resources are not readily available to all to have these problems fixed early, like they are here. As a result, some children have life-long mobility issues, which lead to other health, social and economic challenges.

The funds we raise will pay for surgery to fix Brian’s foot and give him the freedom of movement to be able to walk comfortably and help his family. For more information on the 18th Man project, visit www.one4anotherintl.ca. To buy tickets, you can contact me at [email protected]; Robin Dmitrovic at [email protected] or Julie Gaudet at [email protected] Thanks for your support!Picture1.jpg
