U14 BB Blue - Adam Thompson
Adam is excited to have the
opportunity to coach the U14 BB Blue team this upcoming season. He has played
hockey his entire life and has been coaching locally at the minor hockey level
for over 5 years.
Adam's
passion for teaching hockey to the next generation of players continues to grow
every year. He prides himself in passing along the life skills and positive
memories he obtained as a player growing up playing this wonderful game.
Throughout the past 5 seasons, his teams have won numerous tournaments and have had success at both Tri-County and OMHAs, most recently earning the title of U13 BB OMHA finalists in the 2023-2024 season. His coaching philosophy is to create positive memories and experiences for all players on the team, while giving them the life skills required to be successful athletes and individuals. He runs a challenging but fun-based program ensuring players show up to the rink excited to play. He ensures that himself and his coaching staff always treat his players with respect so they know that they are all valuable additions to the team. At all levels of hockey, kids should enjoy being at the rink and spending time with their team. Adam will ensure this philosophy carries throughout the season. In his experience, when players are having fun, success on the ice tends to follow. This season will consist of skills and systems practices, dryland fitness testing and video reviews, all focused towards ensuring the team is game ready. His team will participate in team building and social events to help create chemistry between players, aligning with the philosophy of creating fun memories and experiences for the players. Adam is a Development 1 certified coach and is working towards the high-performance coaching level. Along with coaching courses, he is always learning from other coaches at the rink to develop his own coaching skills. Adam is looking forward to a fun and rewarding season coaching the U14 BB Blue team.
