Meet Coach Matt
Coach Matt has been playing hockey for as long as he can remember. At 20, he moved to Ontario, where his passion for the sport flourished. In 2007, he won the first-ever Pond Hockey Tournament in Gravenhurst and continues to compete in high-level men’s leagues year-round.

In 2022, Matt transitioned into coaching, quickly establishing a strong track record for helping young athletes reach their full potential. He has had the privilege of coaching players who have advanced to elite levels, including AAA and AA hockey. Watching players grow in skill and confidence has been incredibly rewarding for him, a testament to the trust families place in his guidance.

Matt's passion for the game is deeply rooted in his years of competitive play in Nova Scotia. That experience, coupled with his strong commitment to player development and a deep understanding of the game, forms the foundation of his coaching philosophy.   He emphasizes long-term growth over short-term results, believing it's just as important to instill discipline, resilience, and a love for learning as it is to win games. His goal is to help each player develop individual and team skills, build a genuine passion for the game, achieve personal goals, and gain meaningful opportunities.

Additionally, he focuses on nurturing players into confident, respectful, and responsible individuals both on and off the ice.

"I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to coach in Milton this season."
