Upon conclusion of the regular season games on Sunday Feb 23, teams will split into 2 sub-divisions (A,B).
The split will be made with teams 1-3-5-7-9 and 2-4-6-8-10 based on the regular season standings.
These 2 groups will play a round robin starting March 1 with the top 2 teams in each group advancing to Red Championship Weekend April 4-6.
All teams make the playoffs and only playoffs results count towards Championship Weekend entry.
31. TIES IN REGULAR SEASON STANDINGS
31.01 In case of a tie for any placing at the end of the Season, final standings of Teams will be determined using the following:
(a) Team with the most WINS.
(b) Team with the least LOSSES.
(c) Team with the best record against each other over the entire Season.
(d) Team with the fewest penalty minutes (PIM).
(e) Team with the higher GOAL AVERAGE.
(f) Team with the most GOALS FOR.
(g) Team with the least GOALS AGAINST.
(h) MHL DESIGNATE will flip a coin.
The above tie breaking formula will take into account all regular season games played according to standings.
The goal average of a Team is determined by dividing the total number of goals for and against into the total goals for. The Team with the highest percentage takes the highest position. Example: goals for 10; goals against 4; 10 divided by 14 = 71.4%
- No games during March Break (March 7 - 16 inclusive)
- U15red and younger will play semi finals April 5
- Gold Medal games for all age groups, and bronze (U14red and younger) medal games will be played April 6
