Kitchener (October 24, 2021) Congratulations to the U10 Rep A Milton WinterHawks (MWH) for winning the Oktoberfest 2021 U10A Kitchener Minor Hockey Tournament. Only (3) weeks into the season, this U10A accomplished something special. “For many of these kids, they only first met 20 days ago”, said Head Coach Ken Patterson. “It’s something really special, when a group of strangers can pull together something like this, especially so early in the season.” Patterson was quick to point out the experienced coaching staff, “this is a real great group, it’s a total team effort from the parents to the great coaching staff that care so much about teaching these players the game.” Backed by goaltender, Evan Baragwanath, the U10A MWH remained the only unbeaten team in the tournament – winning (6) straight games. Of those games, (4) shut outs – including the semi final and final opponents. Altogether, the teams’ goals against average was a staggering (0.33). The team was led by forward Evan Gagliardi who had multiple goal games and would win the Tournament MVP. The Championship lineup included: Hudson Detzler, Ethan Chen, Jayden Adams, Anthony Kozmenko, Dylan Patterson, Harrison Gosse, Ashton Kannan, Andrew Starzynski, Joshua Pickett, Joshua Johnston, Nate Langen, Dylan Jones, and Owen Thomas. Coaching Staff: Ken Patterson, Ryan Jones (Head of Development), Josh Adams, Alex Needham, Greg Langen, Phillip Kannan, Marc Gagliardi, and Manager JP Baragwanath, Trainer – Konstantin Kozmenko.
