Jim Brown
Jim
has dedicated many years to coaching hockey, taking on the roles of Head Coach
and Assistant Coach with the MMHA since 2021. Hockey has been an important part
in his life, shaping his experiences and values.
He
played hockey throughout his youth and pursued a professional career in Europe
from 2003 to 2008. This journey not only deepened his love for the game but
also equipped him with valuable skills and insights. Now as a coach, he shares
his passion and knowledge with young players, helping them grow both on and off
the ice.Paul Pento
Paul is a Milton Winterhawk Alumni who looks forward
to passing on the knowledge that creates great hockey players on and off the
ice. Paul will focus on the fundamentals as a key for player development and
his team's will be known as aggressive with an attacking mind frame, while
being responsible and disciplined.
Paul
has experience as an Assistant Coach, trainer and treasurer and is looking
forward to being a Head Coach and is excited for the great season ahead.Robert Fernandez
Coach Rob is excited to lead the U11A team for the 2026–2027
season. His coaching philosophy is rooted in player development, with a focus
on helping athletes elevate their skills, read the game more effectively, and
work together as a cohesive team. He brings a high‑energy approach that creates
an environment that is both encouraging and competitive.
Roberto has spent the past 11 years involved in minor hockey in a variety of
roles. He has worked with several girls’ teams at the AA and A levels and has
been a dedicated volunteer with the Milton Winterhawks for the last four years,
most recently serving as the head coach of the U10B team.
He’s looking forward to another great season and is excited to continue
supporting young athletes as they grow and develop on the ice.Chris Ewing
Chris is
honoured to be coaching the U12A team for the 2026/2027 season. Hockey has
always been a big part of his life, first as a fan, then as a player, and he
now enters his fourth year as a coach. He is proud to represent the Milton
hockey community.
At the U12A
level, the focus remains on strong fundamentals, game awareness, and the
commitment required to compete consistently. Chris believes in fostering an
environment where accountability, work ethic, and attention to detail define
the team culture. Players will be encouraged to challenge themselves, compete
with purpose, and support one another every step of the way.
Development
continues to be the foundation. His goal is to help each player build
confidence, resilience, and consistency while taking pride in wearing the
Winterhawks jersey. Success is earned through teamwork, a strong compete
mindset, and a shared drive to improve every time they step onto the ice.
Chris has
been fortunate to work alongside dedicated coaches who share a commitment to
player development and team culture, and he looks forward to building a
competitive, positive, and driven environment for the team this season.Aaron Trovao
Coach Aaron is excited
to return for another AHL season with Milton Minor Hockey and continues to be
passionate about developing players both on and off the ice. He believes in
always being prepared, accountable, and showing respect every day. His philosophy
centers around valuing effort over skill, understanding that hard work,
attitude, and commitment are what truly separate players. Coach Aaron expects
his team to compete hard, support one another, and represent their families and
community with integrity. His goal is to build confident, respectful athletes
who understand that character matters just as much as performance.
