Milton Minor Hockey Association uses the Hockey Canada (Spordle) platform
for registration. All information
requested through the registration process is deemed necessary by Hockey
Canada.
PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION THOROUGHLY
NOTE: Hockey Canada uses the “U”(age) system. For example, a U9 child would be Under 9, or
8 years old in the registration calendar year.
In step with Ontario Minor
Hockey Association mandated processes, we will have 3 different types of registrations
available- two of which will be accessible from our home page. To better understand our program offerings,
please carefully read our Explanation
of Levels of Play
1. Evaluation (formerly known as “tryout”) Registration opens April 1st–
for U8-U18 players attending Spring Evaluations for Advanced Houseleague/MD and
Rep Teams. U7MD and U21AA Evaluations will be held in the fall.
2. Rep/MD/Advanced Houseleague Season Registration – for U8-U8 players,
after evaluations, if offered a spot on a team – Private registration sign up-
please see your coach.
3. Houseleague Season Registration – Public registration Opening April 1st.
EVALUATION Registration for U8 to U18 Rep, MD, and Advanced Houseleague
opened April 1st. This does NOT include the season registration or accompanying
team fees. A link to the Evaluation
registration packages will be posted on our website on April 1. ONLY register for Evaluations if you plan on being
evaluated for a Rep, MD or Adv HL team. As a Hockey Canada sanctioned program,
Milton is obligated to abide by the OHF season dates calendar for Evaluations. DO NOT REGISTER FOR HOUSELEAGUE PROGRAMMING
unless your player is NOT successful making a team on a Rep/MD or AHL team.

Body Contact Skills: U14’s (2013)
attending evaluations at the AA or A level, or those considering affiliating
for AA or A, must complete the one-time introductory body contact skills clinics
prior to Evaluations. As per OHF
guidelines, these clinics are ONLY available to players rostered to a MMHA team
in the 2025-26 season. A signup link was
emailed to families.

Goalie skills: Refer to Evaluation schedule. Goalies are
expected to attend. As per OHF guidelines, these
clinics are ONLY available to players rostered to a MMHA team in the 2025-26
season. A signup link was emailed to
families.

U8-U11 Skills
Sessions: Hockey Canada mandates 4 OPTIONAL skills sessions for players and
goalies entering U8-U11 programming. Refer to Evaluation schedule. A per OHF guidelines, these clinics are ONLY
available to players and goalies rostered to a MMHA team in the 2025-26
season. A signup link was emailed to
families.
REP/MD/Advanced
Houseleague Season Registration: After
evaluations, if a player is offered a
spot on a Rep/MD or Advanced Houseleague Team, they will be directed to a
private store to register for their team for the season. Link to this store must not be shared with
anyone other than the player/player’s family being provided the offer. The link is for the player only and not for
siblings. Please refer to the Evaluation policy. Registration to the team will constitute
the player’s commitment to playing for Milton for the season. If a player is
not offered a spot on a MD/Rep or Advanced Houseleague Team, they will have the
opportunity to register for houseleague programming.
HOUSELEAGUE
ONLY Registration: Houseleague ONLY registration (not including Advanced Houseleague or any players
still participating in evaluations) for U5 to U21 players will be open from
April 1st until spaces fill, or beginning January, whichever comes first. Access registration link from our home page. Early
Bird Pricing ends August 15th. Please refer to our program info tab on our website for the most up to
date info on our houseleague programs.
TO COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION: Registration for the season is not considered complete or confirmed
until full payment has been received and for new players, the one-time Shift Forward (Replacing the Respect in Sport) online course has been
completed. New players may also be required to submit proof of age and current
address prior to registration being confirmed. Hockey Canada and the OMHA
require a passport or birth certificate as proof of age and a
parent’s driver’s license as proof of current
address.
Registration is NOT dependent on residency. Please be prepared to upload these documents
to your Registration Account (Spordle) during the registration process.

Parents/guardians registering their players are required to read through
this material prior to registering. By registering for the season, the
family acknowledges their understanding of, and agreement with all the
following:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Passwords and
Logins: MMHA does not have
access to Spordle passwords or log in info.
Please request from the registration site if you can’t access your
account. HINT: When creating your account, use a personal email and not a work
email so you can use the password retrieval option if you no longer have access
to your work email.

Registration is limited to a certain number of teams,
predetermined by available ice. All registrations are treated on a
first come, first served basis. Divisions may fill prior to the end
of the Early Bird (Aug 15th). Once a division is full,
you will be prompted to add your player to our wait list.

Early Bird Registration Fee MMHA offers a discount to players who register
and pay their registration fees in full by August 15th. Please note: Spaces fill up quickly, and divisions
may fill prior to the end of the Early Bird.

Players can register online via our homepage by
credit card until the close of registration, or until the division is
full, whichever comes first. Please note cut off dates to register
for Early bird and for Evaluations.

New players Your registration will not
be confirmed until required documentation is uploaded to your registration
account, and the mandatory Shift Forward online course is
complete and on file.

Proof of Age: upload
player passport or birth certificate

Proof of Residency: upload
parent drivers licenses with current date/family name/address clearly showing.

Respect in Sport
Parent Program is being replaced:
The OMHA is updating the current Respect In Sport program to the new Shift
Forward program. They mandate one
parent/guardian of every player complete this online course. Due to OMHA
regulations, players will not be allowed on the ice for any MMHA event
until this course has been completed. There is a separate
charge for this course, paid to the company that manages the online
program.

New to Milton? Please note that if your child has
previously played for another Centre, you may need to complete a transfer
of profile with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. To initiate a transfer, please forward
your child's name, address, and date of birth to transfers@miltonwinterhawks.com.

Special
Requests:
The MMHA does not accept special requests to play for coaches or with
friends. Our focus is team balancing, in our attempt to ensure every
player in the association has a fair and equitable season.

Sibling
Discount: 3rd & Subsequent
Family Member Flat Early Bird Registration and Registration Fee: Milton
Minor Hockey offers a third and subsequent family member a sibling
discount of $290.00. This fee is applied to the youngest family member
only. Please send refund request including
players names to [email protected] once all three or more of your
players have been registered. We will manually refund your discount to
your credit card.
NOTE: Families must apply for sibling discount by January
15th of the season they are registered.
After that point, this discount will not be provided.
GENERAL

Timekeepers/First
Shift Program/Office Help: Are you a high school student looking for
community hours? Please contact [email protected] for info on volunteer opportunities on and off the ice.

Tournament
Volunteers: The MMHA hosts several tournaments through the season.
Volunteers are needed in the tournament office and with timekeeping. Please contact
[email protected] for more information.

Bench
staff: On ice Volunteers can help in various ways with our teams. To
comply with regulations set by the OMHA (Ontario Minor Hockey Association)
bench staff require some online courses and a police check. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Our Season:
Depending on
ice availability, additional development may be available for houseleague
players through the season.
Attendance at these additional sessions will be optional and will come
at an added cost. Please check the website along with your email/junk mail for
more information about these development sessions through the season.
PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

Email Setup: Ensure emails from Milton
Winterhawks ([email protected], [email protected]
etc.) are set up as trusted senders in your email platform. We regularly
get bounce backs on yahoo, sympatico, Cogeco and other platforms. We want to ensure you are getting the
most up to date info.

Online Schedules and
Information: Please check
our website and your email/junk mail regularly for updates regarding Evaluations,
schedules, and other pertinent information. Information regarding
Jumpstart and other funding programs, mandatory hockey equipment, and
schedules can all be found on the website under the program info tab. When
houseleague coaches provide team placement, they will advise how to check
the online schedule. Once
the season has started, it is the parent’s responsibility to check their
schedule weekly. MMHA is not responsible for missed games due to
scheduling changes.

MMHA, OHF, OMHA and Hockey Canada Policies:MMHA and other policies are posted on our website. All Members of the MMHA, including parents, players and volunteers are required to familiarize themselves with, and abide by all posted policies, including but not limited to the MMHA Code of Conduct, Social Media and Digital Communication Policy, Helmet Policy and others. From time to time, the Association may, at it’s sole and exclusive discretion, modify these Policies. Such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting to the Website (www.miltonwinterhawks.com). You acknowledge and agree that the Association may make such changes and notify you by posting on the Website, and that your continued participation with the Association constitutes acceptance of such modifications. Contravention of posted policies may result in removal from our programming and association. Registration Waivers include mandatory ones from the OMHA and Hockey Canada. Please ensure you read them as you register.o

Medical Information
Sheet: All players are
required to provide their team trainer with a completed Player
Medical Information Sheet
at their first ice time (found under the program info tab on our website).

Concussion Protocols. Parents/Guardians are required to
familiarize themselves with MMHA’s Concussion
Protocol. For more

tab on our home page.
Next Steps:
Spring evaluation
schedules and processes are posted to our website’s homepage under the Evaluation
and About/Policies tabs. If your player
is trying out for a Rep, MD or Advanced Houseleague team, look for the Evaluation
Tab. Determine what skills session you
may want to attend- attend Pinnie Pickup- attend the first evaluation skate for
the age group/level you registered for. Schedule subject to change. Check
often.
Once we receive our
ice package from the Town of Milton (end August), we will start building our
schedules. We will not know schedules until then. Approximate dates and times will
be posted late summer to the Program info Tab on our home page and are noted on
the fee chart below.
Houseleague Coaches
will be in touch with team placement by late September/early October. The email
used to register your child is the email we will use to contact you. If you have not heard from a coach by early
October, please check the website for updates, check your junk mail, then contact
[email protected]
Houseleague Installment Payments:
Houseleague Registration fees can be paid in up
to 4 installments. Please register early to benefit from the timeframe of the
installments along with the early bird pricing.
