We would like to update you on some important changes regarding the upcoming evaluations for our U14 - U18 A and BB levels.
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) has mandated that A and BB level evaluations be conducted together during the week of May 2nd. OMHA classifies BB as A without contact, and therefore all associations must hold tryouts for both levels concurrently.
We have already reached out to both A and BB coaches and will be discussing this at our next board meeting to ensure the evaluation process runs smoothly. Additionally, we will hold a pre-evaluation meeting with the coaches to ensure everyone is aligned. We recognize that this change may not be ideal for all involved, and please understand that MMHA shares these concerns. However, in order to comply with OMHA’s rules, we must move forward as directed.
We are working to try our best to ensure participants can attend both tryouts on the same day. Rest assured, our commitment is to provide a fair and comprehensive evaluation for all players. We will share more details about the process soon.
