The Ontario
Hockey Federation (OHF) is shaking things up with some significant changes to
its Player Movement Regulations, set to kick off in the 2025–2026 season. These
changes are designed to prioritize fun, player development, accessibility, and
fairness, ensuring that hockey remains a positive experience for all
participants. It’s great to see such proactive steps being taken to support the
growth and sustainability of hockey in Ontario! 🏒😊The Milton
Minor Hockey Association (MMHA) Board of Directors has been aware of the
potential changes for some time and have been hard at work developing a plan
that will help secure continued Winterhawks success. Our comprehensive plan, outlining
the enhancements will be shared with our members early in the New Year. This
plan will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
·
Our management strategy for Coaches –
maintaining and attracting top talent;
·
An enhanced development strategy – for players
and team staff;
·
Our plans for team expansion – ‘AA’ and ‘A’;
·
·
And much more.
As one of the
most succesful associations in the OMHA and with a track record dating back
over 75 years, it is an exciting time to be a Winterhawk! We, the Board of
MMHA, believe the OHF’s decision has presented a unique opportunity to the MMHA
to expand our organization and develop a market leading minor hockey
experience.
