Community Coach Stream

All,

Effective Aug. 2014, Hockey Canada has revamped the Coaching Certification for the former CHIP/Initiation Certification and the Coach Stream Certification.

The new Certification is named Community Coach Stream and is a requirement for all Rep/MD Coaches in the Atom age group and below as well as a minimum requirement for all levels of House League.

The process to acquire the new Certification is in 3 parts – NO STEP CAN BE MISSED TO MOVE TO THE NEXT STEP.

Step 1 – Setup a  Hockey Canada profile. –  Link to Hockey Canada ehockey account setup.

https://ehockey.hockeycanada.ca/ehockey/Account/login.aspx

Step 2 – Complete the Hockey University (HU) online course – this will take approx. 4 hours. Login to ehockey and signup for a clinic. Tentatively we have one setup for Milton on Sunday Sept. 22nd. Once payment is made you will receive an email with a link to the Hockey University online course.

Step 3 (again, only once Step 2 complete) – Attend the 1 day Clinic in Milton. This should give ample time for those that wish to the opportunity to complete Steps 1 and 2.

More info to follow once Meeting room and Ice time availability is confirmed.

Below is the Information as posted on the OMHA website.

Any questions, please contact Mac Rathwell [email protected]

This course replaces and combines the current Intro Coach (CHIP) and Coach Stream clinics into one clinic. Coaches will now only have to attend one clinic and they will leave the course with Coach 1 – Intro to Coach and Coach 2 – Coach Level qualifications which will be posted to their e-Hockey profile on HCR.                           The Community Coach Stream clinic is delivered in two parts. In Part A, the Participant registers and completes the 4-hour Hockey University Online component before proceeding to Part B, the in-person clinic which includes 4 hours in-class and 2 hours on-ice.                                                                                                                                 *Note: The Community Coach Stream clinic will be listed as Coach 2 – Coach Level on HCR and on Clinic Listings
