We are happy to announce that our U5-9 Registration will be opening May 15th!
Evaluation
packages for our U7 MD, U8 MD and U9 MD (Minor Development) will also be available for purchase.
All of our U5 to U9 (Under 5 to Under 9) programs follow Hockey Canada programming. Our season starts mid October and runs till end March with a culminating day of Champs.
Our U5 program for our youngest Winterhawks (4 yr. olds) typically runs on Saturday and alternate Sunday mornings, with Saturday programming being run by a development company. This helps to ensure a standardized start for all of our new players.
Our U6 program also typically runs on Saturday and alternate Sunday mornings, with Saturday practices and Sunday scrimmages. All play is cross ice.
Our U7 program typically runs Saturday and Sunday mornings with Saturday practices and Sunday scrimmages. All play is cross ice.
Our U8 program typically runs Saturday mornings and Sunday mid day, with Saturday practices and Sunday games with referees. All play is half ice.
Our U9 program typically runs Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons with Saturday practices and Sunday games with referees. Games are half ice till mid January where all teams graduate to full ice games.
Our U7 MD, 2 U8 MD and 2 U9 MD tiered
teams will be comprised of higher skilled players who would benefit from more
competitive play. If players choose an evaluation package at registration, they will come to evaluations and afterwards may be offered a spot on one of these teams. These teams will not play
in our houseleague program. They will participate in home and away games
versus teams from outside centres (potentially: Burlington
Eagles, Flamborough Sabres, Halton Hills Thunder, and the Oakville Rangers). They may also enter some jamborees through the season.
If your player is interested in
more competitive play, please select an evaluation package WITH your registration. The evaluation package will include skills
sessions, evaluation skates and a uniquely numbered pinnie. Evaluations for these teams will be held in September. Our Evaluation Schedule will soon be posted to our
website under the “TRYOUTS TAB”.
Players NOT interested in participating in our MD program will play in our Houseleague Program and will have
the opportunity to purchase additional development sessions through the season if
they wish to do so.
