Season Update
Dear Members,   As the beginning of our 2021-22 season approaches, the MMHA remains focused on our goal of providing programming as close as possible to what we experienced before the pandemic.

With on-ice activities beginning next week for certain age groups at the Representative level, there are several new developments recently announced and others in the works that we'd like to make you aware of.

First, earlier today the OMHA, our governing body, introduced a vaccination policy requiring all participants born in the year 2009 or before to be fully vaccinated by October 31 in order to participate in OMHA-sanctioned hockey events. "Fully vaccinated" by their definition is a completed series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine plus 14 days.

The policy states that players, coaches, managers, trainers, officials, on-ice helpers and board members will need to be fully vaccinated to participate in team activities. We are currently working through the means by which this information will be collected from our participants in advance of the deadline and we will share our process once we have completed our review of the policy.

Currently, the OMHA policy does not apply to hockey players born in 2010 or later, or to hockey spectators.  That said, we continue to work with our partners at the Town of Milton to determine how the recently announced provincial vaccine passport will be implemented at their facilities and how it affects access for our members and their families.

Once we have that clarification we will pass the information on to you.

In the meantime, in partnership with the Town we continue to require all players and those who accompany them to fill out daily Covid screeners before coming to the rink and verbally confirming that you have no Covid symptoms to a Town employee when arriving at their facility.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We strongly encourage those people who are able to get vaccinated to do so as soon as possible to ensure our members remain eligible to participate in a healthy, full and successful 2021-2022 hockey season.
