MILTON MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION RETURN TO HOCKEY UPDATE!
On Friday July 31, 2020 the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF)
released an update to their Return to Hockey Framework which lays out a plan on
how hockey will return safely to the ice in Ontario.
The document details the
different phases we will go through as we work towards returning to traditional
5 on 5 hockey. While this is an important document on how we move forward we need to obtain further direction from our immediate governing body, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) before we can finalize plans for the upcoming season. How fast we progress through these stages will be determined by the OHF, OMHA, Provincial government and our local Provincial Health Unit (PHU).
The goal is to get our players back on the ice in a way that will be safe for the players, parents, volunteers and staff. We are working with the OMHA and the Town of Milton on our Return to Hockey plan and we should have a preliminary plan to present within the next couple of weeks.
Registration will follow shortly after that once available ice time is determined and guidance is received from the OMHA as to the type of programming we can provide to our members. We thank you for your patience as we navigate these unprecedented times.
There is no doubt that hockey will look different this year but our goal is to provide the best programming possible all while maintaining a safe and fun atmosphere.
