As we all continue to adjust to the new normal, the MMHA Board of Directors continues to monitor the ever evolving Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic situation.

Members of the MMHA Board recently participated in several teleconferences with representatives from the OMHA, OHF & Hockey Canada regarding the hopeful Return to Hockey. Both Hockey Canada and the OHF have released Return to Hockey Frameworks, both of which have detailed guidelines of the staged approach to the eventual return to play.

This staged approach does not have a specific time frame but will evolve further to guidelines of the public health authorities, the provincial government and our governing bodies, the OMHA, OHF & Hockey Canada.

Although it was originally announced per the message posted on our website dated May 15, 2020 that registration for the 2020-2021 would open on June 15, 2020, because of the uncertainty with respect to both the timing of the Return to Play and the lack of enough information to determine what the potential costs will be, the MMHA Board has made the difficult decision to temporarily postpone the opening of registration to a future date.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and are hopeful to open registration as early as July 15, 2020 for the 2020-2021 season once we have more information from our governing bodies.

Stay Healthy & Safe
