MMHA COVID-19 UPDATE #2
Submitted By Tracy Gaetan on Friday, March 20, 2020
The Milton Minor Hockey Association continues to monitor the situation with COVID-19 (Corona virus) closely, and our main priority is the safety and well-being of our membership.

As announced by the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) on March 16, 2020, tryouts for the 2020-2021 season will not be held in the spring. Instead the OHF will provide guidance on when the introduction of the 2020-21 season will begin, subject to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors’ future decision when to reinstate all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities.  Such introduction will take into consideration ice availability, capacity and other logistics involved in organizing hockey programs.

Normally registration for the upcoming season would open on April 1st, but with the uncertainty of when tryouts will be held for the 2020-2021 season and the increased financial burden being placed on families dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic, the MMHA Board of Directors is postponing registration for the 2020-2021 season until further notice. Once we have received clear direction when tryouts will be held, we will provide the membership with 30 days written notice of when registration will open and the registration fees for the 2020-2021 season.

As well, given that all Hockey Related Activities are cancelled for 2019-2020, at this time we are unable to hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was scheduled for Thursday May 28, 2020. The AGM will be re-scheduled at an agreed to date, once we are given direction with regard to when Hockey Related Activities can recommence.

Wishing you and your family Good Health & Safety.
