Dear Families, Parents, Guardians, Coaches,
Volunteer and Players,
has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve as your President and I’m so
fortunate to have witnessed so many amazing passes, shots, saves and goals
overt the last number of years. I will be stepping down as the MMHA President
and wish the Association great success moving forward.
I want to thank all the fantastic hockey players and families both present and past, for competing so intensely and for representing both the Town of Milton and the MMHA in such an honorable way. We should all feel very proud of these young children and celebrate both the great times and embrace them in times of challenge. We have over 1800 children playing hockey in the MMHA and every one of them is extremely talented and special. The ability of these children and their respectful conduct both on and off the ice bodes well for the future of our Town.
Our children are amazing, and we are all very fortunate to be spectators, for what they are able to achieve is incredible. As your President I must share that over the years I have learned that our plight in hockey, whatever it might be, pales in comparison to what many in our community and our extended families deal with as their reality.
All of our children have great ability, they have families who make great sacrifice and all have great passion for our game. I want to thank all of you and your children for being part of the MMHA.
The MMHA is in a sound fiscal position with the appropriate controls in place to ensure prudent financial management. I’m very proud of what the MMHA has been able to accomplish. We continually look for ways to enhance our value proposition and provide the children with an incredible hockey experience. Throughout the years there have been some challenges and we have done our best as volunteers to look for solutions. For some, these solutions are not enough and my only ask is that people understand that the MMHA is run by volunteers who look to do their very best and work tirelessly for the members of this organization. Having written the Mission, Vision and Values, my commitment to these guiding principles has been unwavering.
I have taken very seriously the responsibilities of the role of President and it has been a tremendous honour to serve as the President for all these years. Together we have all played a huge part in making the MMHA what it is today and I look forward to seeing what’s to come. Thank you to all the volunteers, coaches, players and fans for all the incredible experiences over the years. Most of all, thank you again for the opportunity to serve as the President of this fine Association, the Milton Minor Hockey Association.
