Beginner and Timbit (Initiation Program) Season Information Meeting
Submitted By Tracy Gaetan on Wednesday, June 20, 2018
As you may or may not know, Hockey Canada has mandated players 8-years-old and under will participate in modified-ice games, which includes cross-ice or half-ice programming. The OMHA is proactively approaching this nation-wide initiative by implementing the Half-Ice Program & Cross-Ice Program for the 2018-2019 season and will continue to roll out the mandate into Novice for the 2019-2020 season

More information on this mandate and its implementation can be found on the OMHA Web Site. www.omha.net.

The Milton Winterhawks believe in the development benefits of Cross-Ice and half ice Programming and are in full support of the OMHA and Hockey Canada's mandates. We do also acknowledge that there are varying levels of skill at these younger age groups and recognize that the players should have the opportunity to develop their skills at the appropriate level.

With that in mind, we are working on a Half-Ice, Cross-Ice program for the 2018–2019 season. We would like to invite all parents of Timbit aged (2012 & 2013 born) players and Beginner aged (2014 born) players to a meeting on Tuesday June 26th to be held at the Lions Hall (Upstairs at Memorial Arena) at 7:00pm, to update you as best we can regarding the proposed program, player evaluation dates etc.

We hope to see you there.

Regards

Trevor Nkiwane
