Food Drive this Weekend
Submitted By Tracy Gaetan on Friday, March 23, 2018
Hello Everyone,
I trust the Week of Champions is seeing some great competition and incredible examples of sportspersonship.
With that in mind I wanted to put this challenge to all the great families in the MMHA.
The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Halton have an office next to ours at MSC, we have established a relationship with this organization of late.
For many, hockey is a privilege and an expense to the family unit. For others, having a nutritious snack before and after school is a significant expense and many just simply go without.

The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Halton has an after school mentoring program and at this program the children are offered a snack.

As we know, all kids are a bit hungry after school, and for those living in poverty, they have often missed either lunch or breakfast, or both. So, the snack can be a lifeline.

Providing a safe snack has been an increasing cost to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Halton and the overwhelming number of children who need this help far outweighs what they are able to deliver as a charity.

If your family is able, we are accepting donations in the form of non-perishable snacks all weekend long at MSC (Tournament Office-meeting room 1).  Our hope is to help children in our community who truly need it and support this wonderful organization. Below is a list of appropriate snacks.

 Please join me in helping.

Malcolm Kelly

President, Milton Minor Hockey Association
