Initiation Program (2011-2013) Meeting
Submitted By Tracy Gaetan on Thursday, August 10, 2017
To all Initiation Age Players and Parents (born 2011-13)
As some of you may be aware, Hockey Canada has implemented a mandate that significantly impacts Initiation age players.  Details of this mandate can be found at

https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Hockey-Programs/Coaching/Initiation

MMHA has been modifying their Initiation Program over the last four years to create focus on development and is already in close alignment with the Hockey Canada mandate.

Although we are required to make changes to our program, these changes will not be as impactful to our players as some Associations.  Please note that these changes are not optional and MMHA will be modifying our program to fully align with the Hockey Canada mandate.

We are aware that there are many questions regarding the Hockey Canada mandate and changes our Initiation Program.  We will be presenting the details of this mandate and the specifics of our program at an open Association meeting on September 10, 2017.  This will also be an opportunity for open discussion and questions.  The meeting will be held at Lion’s Hall from Noon to 2:00PM.  All parents of 2011-2013 age players are encouraged to attend.

We are also currently looking for a few more Beginner and Timbit volunteers.  Please consider helping out on the ice or bench.  If interested in further information, please contact our House League Administrator at: [email protected]

Thank you.

Paul Bradshaw
