Tyke MD Selection Process 2017-18 Season
Submitted By Tanya Croke on Wednesday, February 22, 2017
For the past few years, the main focus of the MMHA's Initiation Program has been player development. Providing a solid foundation of individual skills at a young age is critical to success as a player grows and moves into Representative Hockey.

Our Initiation Program is suited to all players from 4 to 8 years old, and is comprised of Beginner, TimBit, Squirt, Super Six and Tyke programs. These programs have been created to allow players to succeed, progress in their skill development and also compete with like-skilled players.  These programs continue to evolve due to our ongoing efforts to improve development opportunities for all players while supporting a rapidly growing membership. For the upcoming season, Tyke evaluations for placement on our Blue, White and Silver MD Teams will take place in September 2017.  This decision was made for a number of reasons.  A September evaluation falls in line with what a number of associations in the OMHA and Tri County are now doing.  It also gives players who may develop in the summer an opportunity to participate.  Finally, it gives new members an opportunity to try out for these programs.
Should there be any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Trevor Nkiwane (VP of Representative Hockey) or Paul Bradshaw (Director Initiation Program).

Regards,
MMHA Board
