NEW: U7, U8 AND U9 PROGRAMMING UPDATE – 2024-25, News (Milton Minor Hockey)

SEASONAL STRUCTURE for U7 to U9 Minor Development:
Evaluations for  U9MD(2) ,U8MD(2)and U7MD(1) teams  will occur in the Fall. Once teams are selected, there will be a development phase between the end of evaluations and the beginning of the season.
Coaches will be announced in May.
Registration opens May 15.
Top up (Team) Fees apply

Tri-County Minor Hockey League

2024/2025 Seasonal Structure MD (Minor Development)

TCMHL will provide a tiered MD (Minor Development) league for associations for U7,U8 & U9. The MD league is intended to operate in partnership with your associations commitment to opportunity-based programming. Associations may partner the MD league program with internal commitments to their additional development program.

Hockey Canada Pathways and OHF/OMHA communicated Seasonal Structures and Objectives are the foundation for the TCMHL programming model.

KICK OFF to the season for U7-U9

U7 MD Season Summary- Cross Ice All Season

Prep/Evaluation & Development Phase Sept 3rd to Oct 31^st 2024

•Prep Skates (min 4)

•Evaluations (min 3 prior to tiering)

•Focus on Skills/Development

•Up to 4 Exhibition Games

Regular Season Phase Nov 1 to Feb 16^th 2025

•Cross ice games

•Seasonal break at Christmas

•16 games total divided as follows:

▪12 games scheduled by TCMHL

▪4 exhibition games may be used in reg season and end of season phase

End of Season Phase Feb 18th to March 31st 2025

•6 games

•TCMHL U7 Showcase (one day event)

 

U8 MD Season Summary- Half Ice All Season

Prep/Evaluation & Development Phase Sept 3rd to Oct 31^st 2024

•Prep Skates (min 4)

•Evaluations (min 3 prior to tiering)

•Focus on Skills/Development

•Up to 6 Exhibition Games

Regular Season Phase Nov 1 to Feb 16^th 2025

•Half ice games

•Seasonal break at Christmas

•16 games total composed as follows:

▪12 league games TCMHL Scheduled

▪4 Exhibition games may be used in reg season/ end of season phase

End of Season Phase Feb 18th to March 31st 2025

•8 games

•TCMHL U8 Showcase (one day event)

 

U9 MD Season Summary- Half Ice to January 15th 2025 & Transition to Full  Ice Model

Prep/Evaluation & Development Phase Sept 3rd to Oct 20^th 2024

•Prep Skates (min 4)

•Evaluations (min 3 prior to tiering)

•Focus on Skills/Development

•Up to 6 Exhibition Games may be used in reg season/ end of season phase

Regular Season Phase- Half Ice Oct 21st to Jan 15^th 2025

•Half ice games

•10 games

•Seasonal break at Christmas

End of Season Phase Jan 15th to March 31st 2025

Full Ice Games

•18 games total composed as follows:

•8 games (plus 10 Ex games)

•TCMHL U9 Championship (March 28-30)
