Dear members,
Milton Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce that
we will be participating with Halton Hills Minor Hockey Association in an
Interlocking league which will see the U8-U15 house league teams from both
associations compete against each other in the 2023/24 season.
What does this mean?
Milton will draft our house league teams as in the past from
players registered with the MMHA. Once the teams are selected, the Milton teams
will play against Halton Hills House league teams in the interlocking league.
Where will we play and practice?
All practices will continue to be held in Milton with each
team being required to travel to Halton Hills approximately 4-5 times over the
house league season.
Why are you doing this?
There has been a drop in hockey registration since Covid
especially at the younger age groups. This has made it hard for some
associations to field enough teams to have a vibrant house league. By combining
resources at the house league level this year it allows greater competition for
our House League players while giving them the opportunity to play kids from a
nearby association. We as an association feel this will benefit our players and create a better overall
experience for them.
Will we be on the same team as players registered to
Halton Hills?
No, only players registered with Milton Minor Hockey will be
on Milton Minor Hockey teams.
When will the season start
We will have some ice the weekend of September 30th
with practices beginning the following weekend.
We will still have Champs week?
Yes, we will have the same year end tournament we always
had, which will include teams from Halton Hills.

When will we be notified as to what team we are on?
We will begin the drafting of the teams after the Select
Tryouts which end (except for U16) September 10. Our goal is to have the teams
drafted and coaches assigned no later than September 20 with the exception of
the U16-U21 group which will follow a few days later. After that is completed
the coaches will communicate to you what team you are on. Please be ready for a September 30 ice time.
